On Sunday I attended EgoPo Classical Theater's production of Waiting for Godot with my fellow barista and costume designer Sami. She is a pretty big Beckett fan, so I was glad to share this experience with her. I had never seen a Beckett production before, and wasn't sure if I even liked his work. I've read a few of his major plays, and I don't know if I really get it. I get it on a basic surface level, and the "I'm a theatre student who read and discussed his work in class" level,
but it doesn't really speak to me on a deeper gut level. That's what this whole journey is all about though, giving all types a shot to see what I like.
EgoPo is dedicating their entire season to Beckett, and I think that is a really neat concept. Well, that's sort of their thing, pick a playwright or style and spend the entire season working it. So this was their third production (I missed the first two, Company and Endgame), and they have a few sideshow readings of other plays of his as well.
Some of the same actors have performed in each of these productions, and I think it really showed in their performance. The 4 main actors had amazing command of the language and comedy. I've read this play several times, and never really got the humor. I'm still not sure how much of a Beckett fan I am, but I'm glad to have seen this production.

So glad that you're taking the time to experience something you love on a regular basis. I need to do the same!
